Blue and Gold Macaws are also referred to as Blue and Yellow Macaws. Military Macaws are also known as Great Green Macaws. Military Macaws are native to to Central America and South America. They are found in countries from Mexico to Argentina. Military Macaws got their name because they were introduced to Europe by European military members. There are 2 subspecies of Military Macaws and they sometimes get confused with Buffon's Macaw. 

As pets, Military Macaws are considered a quieter Macaws. However, these birds still scream when they wake up and at bedtime. Military macaws are known to be talkative, social, and friendly. When socialized they will be friendly towards the whole family and any guests. 

Scarlet Macaws are perhaps the most iconic of all Macaws. These birds are featured in shows, circuses, zoos, comics, cartoons, and movies all around the world. Scarlet Macaws are also called red and Yellow Macaws. There are 2 subspecies of Scarlet Macaws which differ in the amount of blue and green coloration on their wings. 

Scarlet Macaws are great pets. They are lovable and become extremely attached to their owners. It should be noted that these birds can be extremely loud at times and require a lot of toys and attention. 

Severe Macaws are also called Chestnut-Fronted Macaws and Brazilian Green Macaws. The Severe Macaw is the largest of the Mini Macaws. Severe Macaws can live for 30 years or more. 

Severe Macaws are popular as pets. They are great talking parrots and considered some of the best at it. Like many parrots they do scream in the morning when they wake up and again at night before sleeping. Severe Macaws are considered loud. Severe Macaws like to be close to their owners or perched on their owners shoulders  but do like to be pet. In general, Severe Macaws do not like to be touched. 

Yellow Collared Macaws are one of the most popular pet Mini Macaw species. Yellow Collared Mini Macaws grow very attached to their owner. The birds are incredibly friendly by nature due to their flock instinct. The color of you Yellow Collared Macaw appears dull on the young birds but it becomes brighter as they mature. 

Illiger's Macaw is also called the Blue Wing Macaw. Illiger's Macaws grow to be 15-17 inches in length. These birds are very social and enjoy the company of other birds, even other bird species. People say that these birds are so close with their owners that they reflect their owner's temperament and emotion. Iliger's Macaw can live for 45 years or more.
