The Rose-Breasted Cockatoo is also commonly referred to as the Galah or Pink and Grey Galah. It is one of the most common Cockatoos. These birds have a great reputation for being loving and affectionate pets. Galahs love to talk and mimic and are known for creating less noise than other Cockatoos. These birds can live for 40 years. 

The Slender-Billed Cockatoo is also referred to as the Long-Billed or Slender-Billed Corella. These birds are among the smallest Cockatoos with a length of 18-20 inches. Slender-Billed Cockatoos can live for 50 years. 

All Cockatoos demand attention but Slender-Billed Cockatoos are considered the most independent of the bunch. These birds are popular as pets because they are amazing talkers. Slender-Billed Cockatoos are capable of learning to speak clearly and complete sentences.  They also scream less than many other other parrots.

The Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo is one of the largest Cockatoos with a length of 20 inches. They are regarded as one of the most beautiful Cockatoos as well as one of the most difficult Cockatoos to keep. Although they are intelligent, they tend to be noisy and more difficult to train. For these reasons, the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo is recommended for experienced Cockatoo owners. These birds require near constant attention and may be rebellious if their required attention levels are not met.  

The Umbrella Cockatoo is also referred to as the White Cockatoo and the great White-Crested Cockatoo. Although very affectionate, these birds are not suggested for beginners because they require a lot of attention and when they choose to scream, their call can be quite loud. These birds live for 40 to 60 years. 

These birds can live up to 50 years. 

The Bare-Eyed Cockatoo is also called the Little Corella. These are one of the smaller breeds of cockatoos. This bird measures 14-16 inches in length. The birds can live up to 50 years. The Bare-Eyed Corella is considered to be an easier cockatoo to keep and maintain. One reason is that they tend to make a bit less noise than other cockatoos and a second reason is that require a bit less attention.

The Bare-Eyed Cockatoo is among the best speaking birds. It is known to be able to mimic multiple people, each in their own tone. 

Although this bird may require a bit less attention than other cockatoos, as with all cockatoos they give tons of love but also require a lot of attention.

Black Palm Cockatoos are rare birds and carry a high price tag. They appear elegant and are pleasant to observe. The color patches on their cheeks change colors based on their mood. It is thought that these birds can live up to 90 years. 

This bird is recommended for experienced bird owners. They are more difficult to train than many other birds and their calls are loud. 

The Citron Cockatoo is often called the Lesser Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo. It is similar to the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo with some key differences. They are sometimes crossbred making them difficult to differentiate.  

The Citron Cockatoo is smaller than the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo. It measures between 13 and 15 inches in length. Citron Cockatoos can live up to 50 years, It is also considered quieter than the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo. These birds may learn some words but are largely considered nontalkers.

Goffin's Cockatoos are also called Tanimbar Corellas. This is the smallest white Cockatoo. Studies have shown that Goffin's Cockatoos have amazing problem solving skills. These birds have a length of about 12 inches. These birds can live for 40 years, Goffin's cockatoos are ideal for an eager Cockatoo owner that has space restrictions. These birds are not known for their talking ability but do love to dance. 

 Major Mitchell's Cockatoo is a very beautiful species. These birds are known to bond strongly with one person. They grow to a length of 13-15 inches. Major Mitchell's cockatoos can live up to 75 years.

The Moluccan Cockatoo is the largest of the white Cockatoos. They have a length of about 20 inches. Moluccan Cockatoos can live for 70 years.
